What is a Panama hat?
Made from the young leaves of the jipijapa plant, also known as the toquilla palm, Panama hats are lightweight, breathable, and have a high crown. They are often beige or white in color and have a brim that is usually 3 inches wide or wider. Panama hats are a good choice for summer and tropical climates, and are often woven by hand in Ecuador using traditional methods.
